In honor of National Recycling Day, (yes, apparently this is a real thing), we have been brainstorming different ways in which we can reuse the Mai Tai Tetra Pak container. The packaging itself is very durable and has been used to make a multitude of things like wallets and bird feeders. We decided to do double duty and create a convenient holder for all those plastic grocery bags you have stuffed under your sink (or is that just me?)
This is where we start:
1. Duct Tape 2. String or twine 3. (2) pony beads 4. Scissors 5. Hole punch 6. Empty Mai Tai Tetra Pak
Repeat the bag folding step with however many you would like in your container. Lay out bags in a line, each one covering about two inches of the previous bag’s end.
flatten bags to be sure all the air has been pushed out. Leaving the first bag’s handle out, roll the bags.
Insert the now rolled up bags into the container, using the loose handles of the first bag, pull through the opening at what is now the bottom end of the Tetra Pak.
Et Voila! Recycled bag holder for recycled bags!!
We would love to see how you repurpose your Bob Chinnn’s Mai Tai Tetra Pak! Send us your ideas and/or photos firstname.lastname@example.org
